Ryanair flight makes emergency landing in Barcelona

Pilots reported problem with the cockpit fire extinguisher on London to Valencia charter

A Ryanair flight made an emergency landing in Barcelona early on Thursday after a fault was reported with the cockpit fire extinguisher.

Ryanair FR8321 from London Stansted had been nearing its destination of Valencia when pilots reported what was described as a “minor fault” with the extinguisher, a situation which caused the flight to divert to Barcelona Airport at approximately 10.30am.

According to the airline, the plane lwas inspected after landing by an engineer who replaced the fire extinguisher and cleared the aircraft to return to service.

Passengers remain on board and the flight has since departed for Valencia.
