Web Log: HighBrow micro-courses make learning easy on the go

There is a MOOC (free online e-course) for everything. But who has the time to log in every day, watch the lectures and complete the assignments? If you are a serial subscriber and perpetual dropout of these classes, then HighBrow may be more your style. With HighBrow one simply picks a course – a micro-course, really – and signs up for a daily email. Each email has a mere five minutes worth of reading and, depending on the course, you are not going to get more than a few weeks of these. Then, blam, you are done.

I’m not saying I’m an expert in social psychology but I can now convincingly carry on with cocktail party chat on cognitive dissonance and the marshmallow test. There are lots more crash courses on everything from ideas that changed the world to a brief history of medicine and the science of happiness. If you are struggling to find those extra five minutes, do what I did and delete Candy Crush Saga.
