Irish-founded sports technology firm Teamer acquires Club Website

Acquisition will significantly increase digital media reach in UK, company says

Irish sports technology company Teamer has acquired UK-based football club website provider Club Website for an undisclosed sum.

Teamer said the acquisition will significantly increase its digital media reach in the UK, making the combined platform the leading online and mobile asset in UK grassroots sport, with monthly reach set to exceed two million unique visitors in the UK alone.

Teamer chief executive Robert Mattar said Club Website was bought in a cash- and-equity deal, adding that its co-founders would join Teamer as shareholders. He said there were "tremendous complementary synergies", with an opportunity to roll out Teamer's team-management product on Club Website platforms, and an opportunity to roll out club site solutions to Teamer's 2.5 million-member community.
