Google has denied it plans to open a retail store at the offices it is currently refurbishing in Dublin city centre.

“We already have an online store selling things like Google T-shirts and pens,” the company said in a statement.

“We have the option of a small space doing the same in our Dublin office but we’ve not made any decisions, it’s simply a planning application.”

The internet giant was reacting to a story on the Bloomberg news wire which found reference to a shop in its planning application.
