Subsonic Racin’ Pro

The next generation of racing games are incredibly realistic when it comes to graphics, so why not take it one step further with the controller?

Unveiled at E3 last month, the Subsonic Racin’ Pro is your very own rally car seat in the comfort of your own home. It really does put you in the driving seat, with adjustable pedals and a steering wheel to go with the padded upholstered seat.

It also has programmable buttons and dual-shock vibration feedback that adds to the realism. It’s not an unwieldy piece of kit that will take over your living room, however. The Racin’ Pro is portable, and can be folded into a bag and stored easily.

The only bad news is that Xbox owners miss out, as the accessory is only compatible with PS3 and PC games and platforms.

Sennheiser PX210 BT, £149.99

When it was first mooted several years ago, Bluetooth technology caused much excitement. The idea that you could one day dispense with wires completely was appealing. Sadly, it hasn’t come to pass. But a growing number of Bluetooth-enabled headphones have hit the market, with varying success.

Sennheiser has a reputation for audio quality. The PX210 BT headphones are no exception. They ditch the wires but keep the sound quality, using audio compression technology from Apt-X to deliver some pretty impressive audio.

They are compatible with everything from your iPhone to your PC, and have integrated track and volume controls on one ear. The headphones are also foldable, and more discreet than similarly styled models. An included audio cable turns them into regular headphones. http://www.sennheiser.com

PlayStation Network Plus, €49.99

Sony’s new service for the PlayStation brings a paid network to the next-generation console. But fear not: the traditional online gaming platform for challenging friends and strangers to online battles will remain free.

PSN Plus instead charges for additional content it brings to the console, such as exclusive and free access to selected games, demos and beta content. Paying up will also get you some discounts, Sony has promised, and content downloads and updates will be automatically sent to your PlayStation system.

The only stipulation is that your subscription remains active – as long as you keep paying up, your content will remain accessible. Game trials, which allow you download certain games for an hour to play, are also available.
