Japanese watchmaker Seiko is to release the most portable PC yet in June: a Windows 95-compatible PC on a watch. The 67-gramme device, called the Ruputer, includes an address book, a scheduler and a world time watch.

Seiko says the Ruputer will support standard Windows 95 files, although it does not run the Microsoft operating system itself. The 40-character screen features a joystick input but the company says data is input more easily by downloading it from a PC via a serial port or infra red link.

There will be two versions of the product, one with 512Kb of memory costing 38,000 yen (£207) and one with 2Mb costing 48,000 yen.
