Christmas shop in Tullow looks to hire 100 seasonal employees

Rathwood, the retail destination centre on the Carlow/Wicklow border, is looking to hire 100 seasonal staff for its new Christmas outlet.

The centre is once again running its Christmas family experience, which includes a Santra train, and is hiring 100 “elves”, bringing total employment at the centre up to about 155. The Santa’s Train experience will begin in mid-november and run seven days a week until Christmas Eve.

“We are looking to recruit fun, enthusiastic and outgoing Santa’s elves to ‘The Elf Academy’ to help Santa and Mrs. Claus meet and greet all the children who will visit. Successful elf-licants will be trained in the ELF to Z of Christmas magic as they will need to ensure a magical Christmas experience for children, each of whom will receive their own special gift from Santa,” says James Keogh, managing director of Rathwood.

Already the outlet has sold almost 30,000 tickets for this year’s experience, having gone on sale on September 1st. Tickets cost €15 per child and €10 per adult.
