DUBLIN-LISTED Prime Active Capital reported a 66 per cent increase in revenue for the first half of 2009, boosted by a strong performance by its telecommunications division, PAC Telemedia.

According to interim results posted yesterday, the group’s operating loss narrowed from the previous year to €1.8 million in the six months to June, compared with almost €2.7 million for the first half of 2008.

The companys activities are divided across two main divisions, PAC Telemedia, which has a significant presence in the US, and PAC Digimedia, which has interests in the UK publishing sector, primarily through its academic publishing company, Bell Bain.

Yesterday’s results showed that the PAC Digimedia division continued to underperform, with revenues falling by more than 13 per cent.

PAC Telemedia division saw its turnover increase from €2.9 million in the first half of 2008 to €9.1 million in the first half of 2009.
