Mr Ed O'Connell, the chairman of the Irish National Petroleum Corporation and former chief executive of Digital Equipment in Galway, has been appointed to the board of Bord Gais. Mr O'Connell will also be chairman designate, taking over from current chairman Dr Michael Conlon when his term of office expires later this year.
