Forfas publishes guide on converting the euro

Forfas has published a guide to making conversions between the pound and the euro.

The guide, published by the Business Awareness Campaign, explains how conversions are to be made between one participating national currency and another as well as between the euro and non-participating currencies.

However, the conversion rates used in the sample guides are only illustrative. The conversion rate itself will not be set until midnight on December 31st. A revised guide will be published with the precise fixed exchange rates in early January.

The rules setting out how to calculate conversion rates are set out in EU law and are not allowed to be either rounded or truncated.
