ONE MORE THING:THOSE OF a certain vintage might recall Emmett O'Connell, the Irish-American mining entrepreneur, who ran a clutch of exploration companies such as Eglinton Exploration (now Aminex), Ovoca Gold, Bryson Oil Gas and Continental Pacific Resources.
Having been off the radar for a number of years, O’Connell is preparing to return to the Irish market on November 3rd with the listing of Great Western Mining on the ESM junior market. Bloxham is acting as broker for the listing.
GWM has gold and silver claims in Nevada covering more than 7,000 hectares. In August, it graduated from the Plus market in London to an AIM listing, selling new shares at 11 pence a pop to raise just under £1 million to fund exploration over the next 12 months.
About 130 of its 380 individual shareholders are Irish, representing around 45 per cent of the issued shares.
O’Connell is hoping the ESM listing here will boost the company’s liquidity.
Sadly, GWM’s share price performance has been anything but great on AIM lately.
Since the stock offering in mid-August, GWM’s share price has dropped by more than 27 per cent to about 9.4 pence.
