Eircom ESOP names directors

The Eircom ESOP Trust has announced the nomination of its two directors to the new board of Eircom.

Mr Con Scanlon has been nominated as deputy chairman and Mr John Conroy has been nominated as a director of the company. The nominations were made following a consultative process with all members of the Valentia consortium after its takeover of Eircom, the ESOP said in a statement.

Mr Scanlon led the ESOP in the recent negotiations surrounding the takeover of Eircom by Valentia. Mr John Conroy is chief executive of Merrion Capital Group and is also a director of Iona Technologies.
