THE National Rehabilitation Board has established an independent National Accreditation Committee to oversee the accreditation of training centres that provide courses for people with disabilities. The committee will be chaired by Professor Joyce O'Connor, President of the National College of Industrial Relations. The new committee will have a three year lifespan during which 166 training centres would have to achieve standards set by the NRB.

Funding is currently worth £18 million annually and up to 3,000 trainees are being catered for at any one time.
