German telecommunications operator Deutsche Telekom, which has recently completed Internet telephony tests in Britain, is launching another overseas test in the US.

The US pilot of its T-Netcall service involves 1,000 customers, mainly businesses, and will run into the summer. Customers will benefit from cheaper calls routed over the Internet by making calls via a New York-based number, then entering the destination number and a personal ID number.
