Hotels:The 150-bedroom Radisson SAS Royal Hotel, Dublin, is due to open in June. The €90 million investment at Golden Lane and Chancery Lane is the hotel chain's latest opening here.

The new hotel is a Radisson Royal, an accolade which is only given to a few of the hotels in the chain. JJ Rhatigan Developments is behind the investment, which stands on the site of the former church of St Michael le Pole.

The hotel's spectacular lobby will have a striking, modern décor, with focus on the central staircase incorporating bold calligraphic elements and luxurious materials, such as marble, dark hardwoods and understated furnishings.

The 150 guest rooms will include business class, executive suites, one bedroom suites and a presidential suite, and all are equipped with amenities, such as flat-panel LCD televisions, coffee and tea making facilities, and free high-speed and wireless internet access.

There are a number of unique features, including a fabulous meeting area on the seventh floor. This will offer views over Dublin city centre, and provide a rooftop terrace ideal for private parties, barbecues and other events. This space can cater for up to 300 guests.

Award winning specialists in luxury bars, brands and service, the Gorgeous Group is responsible for the concept and design of the hotel's all-day brasserie, Verres en Vers, and lounge bar, Sure.

The hotel's 15 meeting rooms will include boardrooms and a video conferencing room, all with natural light, a ballroom / conference room which can be divided into three flexible meeting spaces, and a pre-function area catering for up to 400 delegates. Each meeting room will have state-of-the-art audiovisual and conferencing equipment.

Taking up the historic theme from the site's earlier use, interior designers Graven Images was inspired by the original medieval contours to create a series of specially commissioned rugs, used in selected areas throughout the hotel.

The Radisson SAS Royal Hotel, Dublin is in a developing part of the city, no more than five minutes walk from Grafton Street and St Stephen's Green. Dublin International Airport is 12kms and the ferry port 3kms. The hotel will have parking for up to 60 cars.

Following the recent additions of the Radisson SAS Hotel, Dublin Airport and Radisson SAS Hotel, Cork Airport to the Rezidor Hotel Group's portfolio, the Radisson SAS Royal Hotel, Dublin will be the 11th Radisson SAS hotel in Ireland.
