Agency to take control of some Hanly group assets

THE HANLY construction, hotel and property group confirmed yesterday that State assets agency, Nama, has taken control of some of its assets.

It was reported at the weekend that Nama had appointed Neil Bannon of Dublin firm, Bannon Commercial as receiver to a number of assets owned by Alan Hanly Properties, part of the Hanly group.

Nama appointed Mr Bannon to a number of the company’s properties, but not to the company itself.

The group said yesterday that Nama has only appointed Mr Bannon to two industrial units in Keypoint Business Park “for pragmatic reasons” as they form part of a larger unit owned by Laragan Developments, which has been in receivership for the last two years.

“Lough Rynn Castle and Kilronan castle Hotels are not in receivership and, in fact, are trading very positively in what is a challenged economic climate,” the Hanly group said in a statement.

The business is based in Elphin, Co Roscommon.
