The Clondalkin Group has purchased the Scottish printing company, Ritchie Holdings, for £4.56 million sterling (£5.1 million). Clondalkin said yesterday that a further payment of up to a maximum of £2.95 million sterling (£3.3 million) may be payable in the future depending on the successful development of the business by management and on the profitable performance of the company during the two years following completion. The Irish industrial group has acquired 100 per cent of Ritchie from private individuals and a financial institution. Ritchie, which mainly prints speciality printed products, reported sales of £6.64 million in the six months to the end of July last and pre-tax profits of £0.75 million. It has net assets of £2.09 million. The company is based at Kilmarnock in Scotland and sells it products throughout Britain and is complementary to the printing and packaging operations of Clondalkin's subsidiaries in Ireland and the UK, it stated.
