Engineering and plastics group Barlo is planning to close a plastics plant in Belgium in a major cost-cutting exercise aimed at eliminating overlapping operations. The plant at Geel, one of nine in Europe operated by Barlo, currently produces 9,000 tonnes a year of plastics and this will now be transferred to other plants.
