Cantrell and Cochrane group managing director, Mr Tony O'Brien, is to succeed Mr Gerry Murphy as chairman of Anglo Irish Bank, when he retires next year. Mr O'Brien has been a non-executive director of the bank since 1997. An accountant, he is also a not-executive director of CRH and the Enterprise Trust. Mr Murphy is due to retire after the bank's annual general meeting next January.
