The Killarney division of Alps Electronic (Ireland) Ltd, which was established in 1996, has been awarded a silver medal by its Japanese parent, Alps Electric Company Ltd, to mark its contribution to the growth of the company worldwide. The award is seen as a major boost to the Killarney operation and it is regarded as unusual that a subsidiary should be recognised in this way at such an early stage of its start-up.
