State-run China Central Television (CCTV) is to provide real-time television coverage of the Asian Games on an Agence France Presse (AFP) website, officials said this week. CCTV will broadcast real-time sound and video of the games over the Internet alongside online coverage of the Asian Games in English and Chinese, a spokesman told a news conference in Beijing.

China's largest service provider, the China Internet Corporation (CIC), has teamed up with AFP to provide comprehensive reports on the Asian Games in English and Chinese. The deal is the second between AFP and CIC, following collaboration on Chinese-language coverage of this year's football World Cup finals in France, which drew one million page hits a day during the tournament.
