A holistic approach to healthcare

The VHI 360 Health Centre in Galway reflects VHI’s 360 model of care, which is designed to support the overall health and wellbeing of members through an integrated system of clinical services delivered by an expert, multidisciplinary team.

For the first time in the West of Ireland, VHI members will have access to a VHI Urgent Care Clinic for the treatment of wounds, orthopaedic injuries and other minor illnesses. The six-bay unit will provide VHI members with fast access to urgent care for minor injuries and illnesses 365 days a year without the need for an appointment. The walk-in service will aim to assess patients quickly and discharge them within 90 minutes. VHI members will be offered follow up care on site with an orthopaedic consultant or wound care nurse, if required.

It also serves as a hub for VHI’s Hospital@Home, a referral-only service where expert nurses and doctors deliver care directly to members in their homes. In addition, members can access specialist services such as paediatrics and women’s healthcare as part of VHI’s suite of integrated services.

Designed with sustainability in mind

VHI’s 360 Health Centre in Galway has opened in VHI’s existing 42 sq m premises off the Headford Road, which has been redesigned into a fit-for-purpose facility.

In keeping with VHI’s commitment to being a responsible and sustainable business, the redevelopment sought to maximise the social impact of the refurbishment and 90 per cent of the original clinic’s content were reused or repurposed, significantly reducing waste sent to landfill.
