Racing: Wexford's race meeting on Saturday has been cancelled due to waterlogging.

Heavy rain fell all day at the track leaving officials with no choice but to call off the six-race National Hunt card.

"The course had a right old downpour today and it was found to be unfit for racing," explained Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone.

"The ground was originally soft to heavy but the amount of rain they've had in the last couple of days left the situation untenable.

"They might try to put on the fixture another day but plans are still up in the air."
