News: Lloyd Saltman, the young Scottish amateur who announced himself to the world by winning the Silver Medal at the 134th Open Championship at St Andrews, fired a six-under-par 65 to top the leaderboard at PGA Golf de Catalunya on day one of the second stage of the European Tour Qualifying School.
Best of the 12 Irishmen competing over four Spanish courses was Col Moriarty, whose three-under 69 left in tied fifth place at Sherry Golf.
