The last weekend before the return of the National Football League sees the various secondary competitions in the provinces approach completion. In Longford tomorrow at 2.15 p.m. the home side will attempt to win a second O'Byrne Cup title in four years.
Kildare provide the opposition and it will be nostalgic for new manager Padraig Nolan, whose intercounty playing career ended with a collector's item - an O'Byrne Cup defeat by Kilkenny.
The McGrath Cup final is also down for decision tomorrow in Milltown Malbay where Clare take on Tipperary at 2.30 pm.
In Connacht, the FBD League first phase is nearly over. Section One is likely to rest between Galway and Mayo who play tomorrow, but it's a busy weekend for both, with Mayo losing last night against Sligo IT and Galway facing NUIG this afternoon.
Section Two is a straight run-off between Roscommon and Galway-Mayo IT, who meet tomorrow in Woodmount.
Ulster's McKenna Cup is at the semi-final stage with Monaghan playing All-Ireland champions Armagh and Cavan taking on Tyrone in a re-run of last year's NFL final won by Tyrone.
In Leinster, there are Walsh Cup hurling fixtures. Dublin travel to Navan to take on Meath, former Clare trainer Mike McNamara takes Offaly to Mullingar to play Westmeath, and Wexford take on Laois in Portlaoise.
