True, there's still plenty of money to be won after the USPGA so the Golf Masters won't be a dead duck by Sunday evening . . . but with double the regular prize money on offer it should have a rather significant bearing on the outcome of the race for first prize.

Our leader Tim Morris has an extremely healthy six-strong representation in the USPGA field but in his battle with second-placed Ray Charles, with whom he has three players in common, it's a straight contest between Missing Links 3's Darren Clarke, Bernhard Langer and Chris Smith and Castle Street 1's Scott McCarron and Jesper Parnevik.

Packie Gallagher, back in third with Keadue Rovers, is dependent upon Phil Mickelson and Padraig Harrington picking up bulky cheques from their weekend's work if he is going to narrow the gap on the top two while Kevin Barry needs Chris Perry to fare even better. A win would be nice.

Should Thomas Bjorn or Nick O'Hern have four days to remember our unnamed manager in fifth will find his or her Golf Masters' title credentials boosted no end, a fate that will befall Michael Delaney if Mark Brooks, John Daly and Dudley Hart net him a tidy prize-winning sum.

Keep an eye, too, on Pat Corby down in seventh - he's our only top-10 manager with Colin Montgomerie on board - and Enda Costello in ninth, the sole Tiger Woods employer amongst our 10 leading challengers. We should add, though, that some of our managers might have been tempted to make late, late transfers, in which case Tiger might find himself playing for the majority of our main contenders. We'll let you know next week.
