Madden leaves Tipperary wanting


Antrim - 1-18 Tipperary 1-7: Kevin Madden scored 1-10 to steer Antrim to a comprehensive victory over Tipperary at Clonmel on Saturday.

Having conceded the opening point, Antrim responded with a Madden goal but Tipperary quickly regained the lead with a Kevin Mulryan goal.

In the 17th minute Tipperary had goalkeeper Paul Fitzgerald yellow carded when he brought down Tony Convery. Madden blazed the penalty over which helped Antrim to a 1-11 to 1-5 lead at half-time. In the second half Madden widened the gap with four unanswered points as Antrim took an unassailable lead.

Tipperary, who had five players yellow carded, finished the game with 11 men after using all their permitted substitutes.
