Waterford 0-11 Limerick 0-10: An injury-time point from midfielder Darragh Russell earned Waterford a victory they scarcely deserved in their Munster under-21 hurling quarter-final clash with Limerick at Dungarvan yesterday.
Limerick were 0-7 to 0-6 ahead at half-time, and led by three points in the third quarter, but they were too reliant on David Breen for their scores from frees.
The visitors started the second half brightly, scoring two points, from Garvan O'Mahony and Peter Cregan, but they were the only two scores of the third quarter.
In fact, it took Waterford 19 minutes to record their first score of the second period, from Mark Gorman. The sides exchanged points before Cathal Mullane gave the visitors what looked like the winning score a minute from the end, but Waterford drew level with a Gorman free and Russell provided the winner.
