Equestrian:Cheshire-based Corkman Billy Twomey got Ireland off the mark at the Northern Ireland International Horse Show in the Odyssey arena, Belfast, on Thursday night by landing the Navigator Blue Stakes on Sue Davis's Belgian warmblood stallion Pikap.

And yesterday afternoon Britain's Robert Whitaker took the one-round speed competition with the mare Karima, holding off his uncle Michael Whitaker, who slotted into second place with Lady des Hayette.
