EURO 2008:Michael Ballack has been caught up in a row between Poland and Germany ahead of the European Championships after a newspaper depicted him with his head chopped off.
Polish daily Super Express put together a spread showing Poland coach Leo Beenhakker holding the severed heads of Germany skipper Ballack and coach Joachim Low.
Ahead of the countries' meeting in Klagenfurt on Sunday, Beenhakker was told to "bring us their heads", which he has described as "sick".
A Uefa spokesman said: "We are aware of the pictures. It's not something we should condone, people should be talking about the football. There is a healthy rivalry but there is a limit. We are hopeful the talking will be done on the pitch."
Beenhakker was shocked at the images and told the Bild newspaper: "That is rubbish. It shows that all over the world there are sick people. I distance myself from it totally."
The Bundestag, the German parliament, has also heavily criticised Super Express.
Poland winger Jakub Blaszczykowski will miss Euro 2008 after aggravating a hamstring injury in training yesterday. Hertha Berlin's Lukasz Piszczek has been called up as his replacement.
GROUP A:Czech Republic defender Zdenek Pospech has been ruled out of tomorrow's opening Euro 2008 match against Switzerland, while captain Tomas Ujfalusi has a slight abdominal strain but should be fit.
"Pospech has a virus, he has had a high temperature for the past two days. He will not be fit for Saturdays match, he will not go with the team to Basle," team spokesman Lukas Tucek said yesterday.
GROUP C:Forwards Thierry Henry and Franck Ribery pulled out of France's first training session at their Euro 2008 Swiss base after half an hour yesterday.
Ribery, who was seen holding his right ankle, received a knock in France's 1-0 win over Colombia in their final warm-up on Tuesday in Paris, a team spokesman said.
Henry left the training session to undergo treatment, the spokesman said without elaborating.
France captain Patrick Vieira, who will miss his side's opening game against Romania on Monday in Zurich, was back in training after sustaining a thigh injury last Friday in training.
