Gorey CS showed their fighting qualities once again as they came from behind to see off Moyle Park College in this exciting Leinster Schools' Junior Cup Section A semi-final at a wet and windy Dr Hickey Park, Greystones, yesterday.

The Wexford side appeared to be in trouble early in the second half when they trailed 5-7 and were playing against a strong wind. But then they began to produce some fine running rugby which brought reward midway through the second half when Kenneth O'Rourke on the right wing went over in the corner after a terrific break from centre Liam Redmond.

Gorey had the best player on the pitch in Denis Tompkins on the left wing, and it was fitting that he should be involved in the build-up to their third and final try which was scored in injury time by second row Mark McDonagh.

Earlier, the Clondalkin outfit had held Gorey at bay in the opening half, but a try from full-back John Shortall gave the Wexford boys renewed hope.

However, Moyle Park struck back immediately after the resumption with a try from Mark Mulholland which was admirably converted by Ricky Skelton.
