Cork Constitution hooker Frankie Sheahan (above right) seems set to profit from the unfortunate neck injury sustained by Newcastle hooker Ross Nesdale.

Sheahan thus has the opportunity to understudy Keith Wood at provincial and national levels. A former Ireland under-21 captain, Sheahan has developed into a fine prospect and worked very hard to improve his accuracy out of touch. He may now be offered an opportunity to confirm that potential.
