Galwegians coach Kevin Dinneen was delighted not alone by his team's 24-14 victory over Belfast Harlequins at Deramore Park on Saturday but also that the win took them to the top of Division One.

The fact the visitors managed a bonus point to boot was all the more meritorious. Harlequins hooker Richie Weir was sent off for punching in the 32nd minute.

Galwegians had first-half tries from Nigel Carolan and John Cleary, both largely attributable to fine work by Eric Peters. On 56 minutes they grabbed their third try through outhalf Colm Glynn. The bonus point was achieved with Cleary's second try. Harlequins responded with a tries from Ajay Derwin and Rhys Botha.

Dungannon grabbed a last-gasp 20-19 win over St Mary's College at Stevenson Park. Dungannon outhalf Mark Armstrong was the hero kicking four penalties, including the injury time winner and also getting his side's only try of the game. St Mary's responded with tries from Graham Ingles, John McWeeney and Conor McPhillips.
