In his own words: "I think our defence has done reasonably okay. The most worrying thing was probably the number of chances that Armagh got - I think they got six goal chances over two and a half games - and that's something we can't really allow to happen in the final. If we do, we'll be up against it, especially with the likes of Padraig Joyce, Derek Savage and Niall Finnegan who are all classic finishers. However, it has been something we have been working on in training. In fairness, in extra time the last day our defence really grew in stature and we'll be just happy if that trend is carried into the final. "Personally, I'm delighted that Seamus Moynihan has moved back to full back. It always helps when your best player is coming nearer to you and his performances this year have proved the selectors right in the decision they made at the start of the year. It was a very difficult decision when we lost Barry (O'Shea) and there was no other clearcut full back.

Opposition View

Armagh's Cathal O'Rourke on Kerry's defence - "Something that immediately impresses you about the Kerry defence is their mobility. It's a young defence and they're probably inclined to play too much football out of the defence at times . . . but that's not a bad thing either. Seamus Moynihan is the player who pulls the whole thing together for them. He's the heartbeat of the whole county, not just the team. You can sense their supporters getting a lift whenever he gets the ball. Indeed, that confrontation between Moynihan and Padraig Joyce could be vital. As Declan O'Keeffe showed against us, he is a linchpin to the defence. Really, he's more like a seventh defender and must be given a lot of credit for them making the final. I think Kerry's defence will be up to it, and they'll probably tighten up a bit more from the last day, but I still expect them to continue playing open football."
