Munster Minor Hurling Championship semi-finals Limerick 2-14 Tipperary 1-6A highly charged Limerick caught Tipperary completely off guard in a one-sided Munster minor hurling semi-final at Kilmallock last evening.
Inspired by first-half goals from Diarmuid O'Sullivan and Gavin O'Mahony, they went on to dominate Tipperary, who had nothing to offer up front.
Tipperary were given an idea of what was to follow when Brian O'Sullivan and Eoin Ryan pointed inside two minutes and, at 0-5 to 0-1 down after 10 minutes, they were relieved when Joe McLoughney found the net to rekindle their hopes.
However, Limerick, playing with the wind, were clearly in the mood and at 2-9 to 1-3 at the break, were extremely comfortable.
The lively Eoin Ryan and Brendan O'Sullivan strengthened their position immediately after the change of ends.
McLoughney tried his utmost to keep Tipperary in touch but Limerick, solid in all departments, finished with a flurry of points from James and Eoin Ryan and Denis O'Carroll.
