TRAVELLING TO Serbia next week for their Europa League play-off return back on top of the Premier Division table is Shamrock Rovers’ target ahead of their trip to play bottom side Galway United tomorrow evening.
Manager Michael O’Neill is likely to rest several of his side following Thursday’s rousing 1-1 draw in the first leg with FK Partizan as they look for a fourth league win on the spin over hapless Galway who have now lost 20 games in succession and will also be without suspended defender Laurence Gaughan.
“Our form in the league has been very good lately,” said O’Neill, who continues without central defender Ken Oman who is out with a knee ligament injury.
Pat Flynn is suspended while midfielder Conor McCormack is unlikely to be risked having picked up a sore knee on Thursday night.
“We have a chance to go clear at the top, with a game in hand, and we’ll be looking to take that chance,” added O’Neill.
Sligo, who’ve taken just two points from their last three games, will also travel to the UCD Bowl tonight looking to exact revenge for a surprise defeat there back in April in what was regarded as the Students’ best display this season.
UCD have concerns about left-back Ciarán Nangle (shin) and midfielder Robbie Creevy (back).
Right-back Alan Keane and utility player Danny Ventre return to the Sligo squad following injury and suspension respectively but John Russell is suspended.
