Sir, - Like Deirdre Murphy (June 6th), I too completed the Women's Mini-Marathon on Monday, and had a really good time doing so. The atmosphere was one of great fun, and this was thanks, in part, to the men who came along dressed, in general, fairly outrageously. Your front-page photograph on Tuesday was no great monument to good taste, but it was hardly the first time that a sporting event and a lapse in drawing-room manners have coincided.
I think, perhaps, those writing to express their objections to your photograph might be well advised to lighten up a bit - it was a "women's" and not a "wimmin's" event! - Yours, etc.,
