Water protesters and resources

Sir, – I watch with interest the single-minded co-ordination of the State’s resources to prosecute the protesters who confined Tánaiste Joan Burton to her car for two and a half hours in Jobstown.

At the same time homeless families with children are sleeping in cars nightly and it does not seem to galvanise a similar response from the powers that be. Which is the greater crime?

– Yours, etc,

WILLIAM HUMPHRIES
