Yesterday, December 5th, is the United Nation's International Volunteer Day. volunteerism has many social benefits, including community cohesiveness and a sense of shared responsibility. It is still an intrinsic part of Irish society. With 2007 approaching, volunteering should be on everyone's list of New Year resolutions. - Yours, etc,
