Sir - In response to Eamonn McLoughlin (July 12th), it seems that the experts are damned if they do and damned if they don't. There have been no major incidents due to the Y2K problem, but is this because there was no real problem or because all the money and work that was invested was actually effective in overcoming it?
Maybe we should occupy ourselves with more pressing matters and not look to apportion blame for the lack of a global catastrophe. Or maybe we could head over to some of the tribunal hearings and find out more about all the rides we have been taken on over the past few years. - Yours, etc.,
Marc O'Donoghue, Howth Road, Dublin 5.
