Sir, - The Taoiseach and the Minister for Education and Science seem to confine their utterances on the current dispute to words beginning with the letter "A". They have been "amazed", "appalled" and "aghast"; and, to cap it all, they are now "away" - dare I say it? - fiddling while home burns. I suggest that they study a dictionary on their long-haul flights home - especially words beginning with letters such as "E" for equality of treatment of all workers (not just TDs, judges and hospital consultants) or "C" for compromise, so that when they come back to earth they will have the wherewithal to negotiate a resolution to this dispute. - Yours, etc.,
