Sir, – Hilary Fannin (Life, May 10th) takes issue with men of a certain age sporting shorts. I am quite incensed by the sneering and demeaning tone of her piece. Furthermore, I suggest that if a middle-aged male were to similarly air his views on a dubious female wardrobe choice, the sisterhood would combust with fury. – Yours, etc,
