Sir, – Why not encourage children to record sightings of these alien insects or other life forms (“Public urged to report alien species”, August 26th)?
If information regarding the identification of these insects were given to school children they would happily record sightings and some might have cameras to verify identification. Most children I know are endlessly enthusiastic, especially when engaged in a project that would help the environment and one that uses what they gather to expand adult knowledge.
I know my grandchildren in Drogheda would be looking every time they played outside or visited an historical site. – Yours, etc,
