A chara, – My parents made huge personal sacrifices to pay for their children’s education to third level.
As a result, my siblings and I were allowed vote in Seanad elections, my parents never were. Democracy indeed!
The Seanad has long been a repose for failed and aspiring politicians as well as over self-opinionated, verbose, elitist individuals.
