Sir, – I believe the Government should step in and cancel the proposed sale by Nama of Palmerstown House Estate (Commercial Property, February 29th). The magnificent Palladian house, together with 700 acres of beautiful parkland, should be kept in the State’s ownership. It is a valuable asset to the nation and could be used for many social and economic purposes. For example it could be a national centre for the arts, music and crafts; or equestrian or sports facilities could be added. There is so much potential and benefit that could be harnessed for the local economy.
To sell off the Palmerstown House Estate and lose it forever is not for the greater good of the nation. – Yours, etc,
