Sir, – In two decades from now more Irish people will have been in the Excel stadium on the evening that Katie Taylor won her gold medal than were in the GPO during Easter 1916. – Yours, etc,

Sir, – As a Bray resident of 10 years, I’ve frequently seen Katie Taylor around our picturesque seaside town. A couple of years ago I spoke to her in a local supermarket to congratulate her on one of her world title wins. She was modest and self-effacing, quietly spoken and very gracious in her manner. A slight figure, with a pretty face, beautiful eyes, and long flowing chestnut hair.  It’s easy to forget she could probably snap you in two with her thumb. – Yours, etc,
