Sir, - Heidi Good (December 16th) complains of the dominance of Xmas over Christmas, and suggests that the latter be moved to an alternative date, thereby allowing us to celebrate the birth of Christ and the true meaning of Christmas.
Perhaps this is timely revenge by the feast of Saturnalia which saw December 25th usurped by the early Christians and claimed as the feast of Christ's birth? - Yours, etc.,
