Sir, - Isn't Mr Quigley's letter (January 8th) funnily enough, a good example of the American mentality Mr Pinter describes in his article.
In his letter, Mr Quigley doesn't even make an attempt to enlighten us by explaining why American foreign policies and interventionism in the name of "democracy" and "freedom", have been, and still are, so ruthless and criminal. Instead he opts for a personal attack and tells Mr Pinter "to focus his poison pen on the problems of his own little third world island". - Yours, etc.,
