Sir, – David McCabe (January 2nd) suggests that retailers and others should round bills up or down to allow us rid ourselves of fiddly one and two cent coins. I suggest not many retailers or banks will ever round down. The changeover to the euro proved that nothing will ever again round down in this country. – Yours, etc,
