Irish weather and global warming

Sir, – The understandable emphasis in Wednesday’s paper on the Government’s decision to delay the resumption of indoor dining for an indefinite period, may well have drawn attention away from the Weather Watch section on the back page.

There for all to see was undeniable evidence that global warming is having a significant impact on Irish weather conditions. How else can one explain that Katesbridge in Co Down was the sunniest place in Ireland with an incredible 12.5 hours of sunshine? The same Katesbridge that regularly takes the headline of the coldest place in Ireland. Minister for the Environment Eamon Ryan please take note!

– Yours, etc,

ED COGHLAN,

Malahide, Co Dublin.
